HOW TO GET TO SLEEP - 2 simple hacks

Can't get to sleep at night? I used to have this problem but not anymore.

I used to hear every noise outside my house at night,


I would lay awake thinking and trying to solve problems that definitely didn't need to be solved at midnight.

I would be anxious that I couldn't fall asleep and would be tired the next day which ironically stopped me from falling asleep.


I would find the more I thought of something and told myself to stop I would become more awake. So weird I know, it's a vicious cycle.

I now fall straight to sleep and have a restful sleep.

So how can you change it?

It's important to set the scene, turn on a lamp with a gentle light like a salt lamp which casts an almost pink light over your room or even light a few candles.


Listen to nature sounds like heavy rain or a river flowing on Spotify (on low volume) while you are getting comfy and ready for sleep.


I normally put an hour track on, I pay for premium so I don't have ads, if you don't have that, YouTube have free videos with these sounds here (This is the most important thing for me)


Put your phone down and just let yourself calm down without artificial light or mental stimulation. (Do not get on TikTok whatever you do, save that for another time)

If your mind wanders back to work or other thoughts put your concentration back on the sound that you have chosen.

Eventually when that pink light or candle goes on and you hear your chosen sound you will start to get sleepy as your brain thinks it's your rest time.


Another great one is to meditate for 10 minutes a day, YouTube have some great free guided meditations to start with.


You only have to do it for 10 minutes per day, that's it.
